A tallit-and-tefillin-wearing woman in a traditional Conservative synagogue?! An unorthodox—and non-orthodox—perspective on Jews and Judaism from a perpetual misfit. This blog, welcoming the entire Jewish community, is dedicated to those who take Judaism seriously, but not necessarily literally.

Oy, Chanukah
First, my husband got sick. We were both tested for flu A, flu B, and COVID, and the tests were negative, but my husband had still gone from tenor to bass and was coughing his head off. 🙁
Then, the world got sick (or sicker). Mass murder against Jews in Australia. An attack on a college campus in Connecticut. 😢
My husband went back to the Urgent Care center after a week of coughing. The good news: He doesn't have pneumonia. The bad news: He has bronchitis. I've been camping on the convertible couch in the living-room for over a week, and it appears that I'll still be sleeping on the sleeper sofa for at last four more nights.
Not our best Chanukah, and a lot worse for the folks in Sydney, Australia. 🙁
